I’m a freelance artist originally from Whakatane, New Zealand, and now proudly based in Boorloo, Perth. My focus is on illustration, canvas and large-scale mural painting. My style is incredibly versatile mixing styles like comic art, abstract and portraiture. I draw inspiration from my Māori heritage through the art of storytelling.
I usually always use a doodle grid on murals, this helps me get the proportions correct from my design.
In New Zealand about 4 years ago while I was door-knocking in an attempt to sell artworks out of the back of my car, I bumped into a well-known Māori artist who is known for his gigantic portraiture murals - he goes by Mr G. He saw what I was doing and as well as purchasing one of my pieces, he shouted me out and made a video which was a big step for my art career that ill forever be grateful for. From then I went on to sell paintings online as well as start painting murals around New Zealand.
Now currently residing in Perth my goal is to continue sharing art and painting bigger and bigger walls throughout Australia and hope to shed guidance to the next generation of artists.

Favourite types of mural projects
My favourite types of works to paint are large-scale murals that tell a story of some sort, cultural murals, or themes around spirituality. It would be great for anyone wanting art that not only is eye-catching but can tell a story. I enjoy community murals that let people have some involvement, and I’m able to delegate tasks to anyone wanting to contribute if it’s a community mural.
