Currently lives and works in Melbourne, Australia.
Rory Lynch-Wells is a visual artist living and operating in South Yarra, Melbourne.
He studied a Bachelor of Business at Monash University with units completed at Aalto University, Finland.
Rory arrived on the Melbourne art scene in 2018 with large-scale public murals in the city's inner south-east under the name Lynch. Since then, he has collaborated with prominent clients like the AFL, Under Armour, and Dirk Nowitzki on various artistic projects.
He is best known for his collage-like style, in which abstract colours, patterns and references come together to form a larger image. This approach adds depth and meaning to subjects that might otherwise feel ordinary.
Favourite mural project types to work on
My favourite projects are large-scale murals created in teams. These projects showcase my strengths as a muralist, as they involve extensive planning, tools, equipment, and coordination with personnel — and I’m the one who brings it all together 😊. The final result is usually something that would be incredibly challenging to accomplish alone, leaving viewers in awe.
Client mural projects
Steph Curry Rooftop - Under Armour x Rebel Emporium
Consisted of creating artwork for Rebel Sport and Under Armour's new rooftop basketball court in Melbourne CBD. This included the development of five digital artworks that were printed on the staircase walls up to the court, as well as an original 11x6m mural on the baseline wall.
7AFL New Era Advertisement
Collaborated on a mural with Cody Weightman that was the feature piece in 7AFL's summer footy promo for 2025. The process was filmed and compiled with footy highlights to create a nationally deployed television and social media advertisement.
An Evening With Dirk Nowitzki
Live painting for Dirk Nowitzki's speaking event in Melbourne (2023).
The projected consisted of pre preparing a large artwork of Dirk, then finishing it live during the event. The piece was signed by Dirk then sold via auction at the evenings end.
